Assam: Government to grant land pattas to 3.5 lakh tea garden workers and build houses
Guwahati, July 14 -- The Assam government has announced plans to provide land pattas to around 3.5 lakh tea garden workers and build houses for members of the tea garden community under government-funded schemes.
Announcing during the seventh day of the Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly on July 14, Panchayat & Rural Development, Excise, Implementation of Assam Accord, and Border Protection & Development Minister Atul Bora said the move aims to provide greater security and improve the living conditions of tea garden workers.
