Guwahati: Girijananda Chowdhury University (GCU) has been recognised as a Platinum Sustainable Campus under the Bharat Environment Program - A Bharat Sustainability Campus Mission 2026.

The recognition was conferred during Earth Week celebrations held from April 22 to 29 by the Research Heights Foundation in collaboration with the Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI).

According to the university, the award was presented in recognition of its efforts to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility through a series of awareness programmes and eco-friendly initiatives conducted on campus.
