Assam: Freedom fighter Madan Bhuyan passes away at 101 in Dibrugarh

North Lakhimpur: Eminent freedom fighter, noted educationist, and one of the most revered senior citizens of Lakhimpur district, Madan Bhuyan, passed away on Wednesday at Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh, following a brief illness. He was 101.
Born in 1925 in Charaidoloni in Narayanpur, Lakhimpur district, Bhuyan took part in India's freedom movement from a very young age. He was imprisoned during the historic Quit India Movement in 1942 for his active participation in the struggle against British rule.
After Independence, Bhuyan dedicated his life to education and social service. He joined Picholaguri ME School as one of its founder teachers and later retired as the headmaster...
