Guwahati, Sept. 12 -- Five youths died when a seven-seater passenger vehicle they were travelling in collided with an oncoming truck at Balipara in Assam's Sonitpur district.

The collision occurred on National Highway 15 late Friday night.

All five people in the passenger vehicle died at the spot.

Those killed were Gobinda Hazarika, Nayan Swargiary, Papu Bora, Pranjal Bania and Sanjay Mech.

Witnesses said the truck driver left the spot immediately after the accident. Police are trying to locate the driver and find out how the collision occurred.

Traffic on National Highway 15 was affected for some time after the crash. Authorities reached the spot and later cleared the road.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. More detail...
