North Lakhimpur, June 29 -- Police in Assam's Lakhimpur district recovered a large quantity of suspected Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) during an early morning operation on Monday.

The seizure was made during a checking operation at around 5:30 a.m. in front of the Dholpur Police Outpost under Narayanpur Police Station, when a hatchback bearing registration number AS01GK7439 was intercepted.

The officer-in-charge (IC) of Dholpur Police Outpost, along with police personnel, recovered a large quantity of suspected FICN from the vehicle, which was travelling from Bongalmora in Lakhimpur towards Guwahati.
