Guwahati: The Green Chapter Foundation (GCF), a non-governmental organization committed to environmental conservation, observed World Environment Day 2026 with an awareness programme focused on climate action and sustainability at Cotton University's Alumni Hall in Guwahati.

Aligned with the global themes #NowForClimate and #ClimateAction, the initiative aimed to sensitise students to the challenges of global warming and environmental degradation. Around 100 school students from across the city participated in the programme, which featured inter-school poster-making and quiz competitions designed to promote environmental awareness through creativity and knowledge-sharing.
