Assam: Doctor, three MBBS students injured following clash at Jorhat Medical College Hospital
Guwahati, Sept. 19 -- Four people, including a doctor and three final-year MBBS students, were injured in a confrontation involving local youths at Assam's Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) on Friday, September 18.
Dhiraj Pegu was among those injured, along with medical students Abhilesh, Sukumar Das and another final-year student. Initial information indicates that the four were allegedly attacked with sharp-edged weapons during the confrontation.
The incident prompted a large gathering of JMCH hostel residents outside the hospital. They called for action against the people allegedly involved, while police personnel arrived at the spot and intervened to keep the situation from escalating.
