Haflong, July 22 -- The Dima Hasao Shotokan Karate Team made the district proud by winning 21 medals and trophies at the 4th APJ Abdul Kalam International School & Senior National Karate Championship held in Howrah, Kolkata.

The championship took place on July 19, 2026, at Shree Agrasain Seva Samity, where karate players from across the country participated in various categories, including Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring) across Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior and Senior divisions.

Representing Assam's hill district of Dima Hasao, the team delivered an impressive performance under the guidance of chief instructor Sensei Chandrosing Chinthong, securing:
