Doomdooma: Amid growing public concern over chemically ripened mangoes sold in markets, naturally tree-ripened mangoes from Assam's Dima Hasao district are drawing attention for their taste and quality.

Roadside vendors in Haflong are selling locally grown mangoes, which many consumers say are sweeter and more flavourful than chemically ripened fruits transported from outside the state.

Local Congress leader Nandita Gorlosa said, "While travelling, I met Ayung, a mango vendor, and found both varieties to be absolutely delightful - sweet, fleshy, and full of flavour.
