Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday described the reappearance of the Dhole in the Kaziranga National Park-Karbi Anglong landscape as a significant achievement for wildlife conservation in the state.

In a post shared on X, the Chief Minister said the Dhole, known for being a stealthy and efficient wild predator was once commonly found in the forests of the region before gradually vanishing over the years.

Sarma attributed the species' return to sustained conservation measures undertaken by the government, including expansion of forest cover, restoration of wildlife corridors and eviction of encroached forest areas, which together helped improve habitat conditions for various s...
