Assam: CPI(M) seeks permanent flood solution, adequate relief for affected families
Doomdooma, Aug. 23 -- The Communist Party of India (Marxist) held a statewide "Demand Day" on Friday, calling for an investigation into the factors behind the severe floods that affected four districts of Assam last month.
The party also sought a long-term solution to the state's recurring flood crisis, along with adequate relief and rehabilitation for people affected by the disaster.
As part of the statewide programme, CPI(M) units submitted a memorandum containing 14 demands to the Chief Minister through local administrative authorities in different parts of Assam.
