India, March 16 -- With the 2026 Assam Assembly elections drawing closer, political parties have begun unveiling their electoral strategies, including the announcement of candidates for key constituencies.
Among the latest to release their nominees are the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the All Party Hill Leaders' Conference (APHLC), both gearing up to contest crucial seats in the upcoming polls.
The APHLC has announced candidates for two constituencies in Karbi Anglong district. The party has fielded its president John Ingti Kathar from the Diphu Assembly constituency, while Bikram Hanse has been nominated to contest from the Amri seat.
