Doomdooma, July 8 -- Assam Police arrested two youths and seized a country-made pistol along with four rounds of live ammunition during an intelligence-led operation in Chirang district on Wednesday.

The operation was conducted near Kalpani Beel at No. 3 Goraimari under Panbari Police Station in Bijni subdivision after police received specific intelligence about the movement of suspected individuals carrying illegal arms.

Acting swiftly, the team intercepted a motorcycle (registration number AS26A6910) travelling from Bawpara village towards Palengbari and detained its two occupants.

The arrested persons were identified as Sukur Ali and Abbas Ali, both residents of Bawpara village.
