India, March 11 -- The Congress has decided to temporarily pause discussions on a proposed electoral alliance with Raijor Dal for the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly elections, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President, Gaurav Gogoi said on Wednesday.

In a statement, Gogoi said the Congress had initially explored the possibility of an alliance with Raijor Dal in line with public expectations that opposition parties should contest the elections with a united strategy. However, despite several rounds of discussions, the two parties were unable to create a favourable environment to move forward with the proposed arrangement.
