Assam: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announces 60 libraries across Guwahati, one in each municipal ward
Guwahati, Oct. 4 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced plans to set up 60 libraries across Guwahati, with one library proposed in each municipal ward, to provide dedicated spaces for students, researchers and readers.
Sarma announced the initiative in a post on X, saying the project aims to expand access to suitable spaces for learning and reading in the city.
"Book lovers in Guwahati, I have some good news for you," Sarma said in his post.
According to the chief minister, the state government is working on establishing one library in each of Guwahati's 60 municipal wards.
