Guwahati, Sept. 1 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday announced three major decisions, including financial assistance for graduates, support for students learning foreign languages and interim relief for flood-affected families.

The announcements were made on September 1 and cover education, employment-oriented skill development and assistance for people affected by the state's floods.

Under the Mukhyamantri Jibon Prerana Asoni, the state government will provide Rs 2,500 per month to graduates for one year. According to the announcement, Rs 118.6 crore will be disbursed under the scheme this year.
