India, March 2 -- A tense situation prevailed in the Banglipara area of Assam's Bajali district after a Class 4 student of Stella Maris School was allegedly assaulted by a teacher on the school premises.

According to reports, the student was reportedly pushed against a wall by a teacher during school hours. The teacher serves as a computer teacher at the institution.

Following the incident, the injured student was first taken to Bajali Civil Hospital for treatment. Due to the nature of the head injury, the student was later referred to a hospital in Masalpur for further medical care.
