Guwahati, Sept. 18 -- The houselisting exercise for Census 2027 has been extended until October 31 in Assam's Charaideo and Sivasagar districts following disruptions caused by the flood situation, according to a notification issued by the Registrar General of India.

The extension covers the houselisting operations and housing census (HLO) in the two districts, where several Census-related preparatory activities were suspended in August because of the floods.

The HLO in Assam was originally scheduled from August 17 to September 15. However, training programmes and other preparatory work in Charaideo and Sivasagar were put on hold amid the prevailing flood situation.
