Assam: Cabinet clears Rs 50,000 crore package for infrastructure and welfare projects
Guwahati, Aug. 30 -- The Assam Cabinet has approved a Rs 50,000-crore development package aimed at boosting infrastructure, welfare programmes and long-term capital investment across the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced.
The funding will be mobilised through the state's own resources, assistance from NABARD, and various Central government schemes. The package will cover a wide range of sectors, with major allocations planned for housing for tea garden workers, upgrading schools and colleges, student welfare initiatives, women's markets, and hostels for women.
