Guwahati, July 6 -- The budget session of the 16th Assam Legislative Assembly begins on Monday, with the House scheduled to assemble at 9:30 am for the first day's proceedings.

The session is expected to focus on a wide range of legislative proposals and key financial decisions. A major highlight will be the presentation of the Assam Budget for 2026-27 by Finance Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah on July 10.

Apart from the budget, the government is expected to introduce several bills that received cabinet approval recently. The proposed legislations cover areas including tourism, business reforms, urban development, land administration and support for small enterprises.
