Doomdooma, Sept. 3 -- The worsening erosion along the Brahmaputra and its tributary channels is posing an increasing threat to tea plantations, workers' settlements and critical infrastructure in Upper Assam, prompting Makum MLA Sanjoy Kishan to call for immediate anti-erosion measures at Rungagora and Dinjan tea estates in Tinsukia district.

Kishan visited the two tea estates on Wednesday afternoon to assess the impact of ongoing flooding and riverbank erosion. During the inspection, he directed officials of the Water Resources Department, the Makum Sub-Divisional Administration and other concerned agencies to initiate urgent measures to protect vulnerable areas.
