Guwahati, Sept. 15 -- The body of Ramanuj Goswami, the prime accused in the murder of his 25-year-old wife, Riya Talukdar Goswami in Guwahati's Hatigaon area, who died in police custody on September 14 after allegedly sustaining critical injuries while attempting to escape, is likely to be handed over to his family on Tuesday following the completion of his post-mortem examination at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Goswami's body is currently being kept at the GMCH mortuary. His family members have reportedly reached Guwahati to receive the body, with his last rites expected to be performed at his ancestral home in Gauripur, Dhubri district.
