Guwahati, Sept. 23 -- The Assam government will make the paperless e-Office system mandatory across all government offices from January 1, 2027, extending digital file processing beyond the state Secretariat.

The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) announced the deadline on Wednesday as part of the state's digital governance programme.

In a post on X, the CMO said all government offices would shift to the paperless system. It said the move would make public services more transparent, efficient and citizen-centric.

The e-Office platform developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) is already in use across the Assam Secretariat. All 58 departments are currently using the system, while selected directorates and Deputy Commissioner offices...
