Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has named former Member of Parliament Abdul Khaleque as Advisor to its Media Department, assigning him a key role in strengthening the party's communication strategy in the state.

The appointment was approved by APCC president Gaurav Gogoi and came into effect immediately, according to an office order issued by APCC General Secretary (Organisation) Ramanna Baruah on Satuday.

As Advisor, Khaleque will assist the APCC Media Department in coordination with its chairman. He will function under the direct supervision of the state Congress president.
