Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh Anti-Drugs Warriors (APADW) president and prominent anti-drugs activist Gumin Mize was arrested in East Siang district on Thursday in connection with a rape case and remanded to 14 days' judicial custody by a local court.

According to sources, Mize was apprehended around 2 pm and produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody pending investigation.

The arrest followed an FIR lodged by a woman accusing Mize of rape, criminal intimidation with a firearm, sexual harassment and exploiting her vulnerable circumstances while her husband was undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation centre.
