Dibrugarh, July 8 -- A massive landslide triggered by incessant heavy rainfall struck the Shivaji Nagar area near Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh's Lohit district, leaving at least two people dead and three others missing.

According to reports, five people were trapped under the debris after the hillside collapsed.

Rescue teams have so far recovered two bodies, while search operations are underway to locate the remaining three missing persons.

The victims are believed to be labourers engaged in a local construction project.

The Lohit district administration, along with disaster management officials, launched rescue and relief operations in the affected area.
