Arunachal: NHRC orders inquiry into alleged violence at Bordumsa SIR hearing
Guwahati, Sept. 8 -- The All India Chakma Students' Union (AICSU) has welcomed the intervention of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) into an alleged incident of violence, vandalism and assault at the ADC-cum-Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) office in Bordumsa, Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh.
The incident reportedly took place on September 4, 2026, during a hearing related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. AICSU, the apex body representing Chakma students in India, had filed a complaint with the NHRC seeking action over the alleged incident.
