Arunachal: Massive landslide cuts off Seppa-Itanagar road after heavy rain
Guwahati, Aug. 4 -- A major landslide triggered by incessant rainfall blocked the Seppa-Itanagar road in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, disrupting traffic after a vehicle was reportedly buried under mud and debris near Zero Block Point close to Seppa.
According to preliminary information, a large section of the hillside gave way following heavy rain, sending rocks, mud and debris crashing onto the road. The landslide completely blocked the vital route linking Seppa in East Kameng district with the state capital, Itanagar.
Officials said a vehicle was caught in the landslide and is believed to be buried beneath the debris. However, authorities are yet to confirm the number of occupants or whether there have been any casualties or injuries...
