Arunachal: Complaint filed to NHRC over alleged torture of Gumin Mize in custody

Pasighat: A complaint has been filed before the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) alleging custodial torture of Arunachal Pradesh anti-drug activist Gumin Mize at Bihpuria Police Station in Assam's Lakhimpur district.
The petition was submitted by Buteng Tayeng of Namsai, who has accused police personnel of subjecting Mize to severe physical assault, verbal abuse and denying him proper medical examination while in custody. It has sought an independent NHRC probe and strict action against those responsible.
