Guwahati, Aug. 16 -- A Rs 7,834 crore investment programme covering the 2026-29 period has been announced by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, with roads, rural connectivity and other key infrastructure among the areas covered.

Khandu made the announcement during the 80th Independence Day celebrations at Indira Gandhi Park, where he hoisted the national flag and spoke about the need to make infrastructure better prepared for disasters following the recent floods and landslides.

He said the government would work towards providing communities across the state with infrastructure that is safer, stronger and more capable of withstanding future disasters.
