Dibrugarh, Sept. 7 -- The Lekhapani Battalion of Assam Rifles has apprehended two alleged Over Ground Workers (OGWs) linked to the NSCN (IM) during an operation in Arunachal Pradesh's Wara-1 area.

The operation was launched on Saturday based on intelligence inputs regarding the movement and activities of suspected OGWs associated with SS Maj Wangjen Pantha of the NSCN (IM).

According to Assam Rifles, the two individuals were also allegedly involved in efforts to recruit local youth into insurgent activities.

The apprehended persons were identified as Kekho Namet and Yumsen Mannow, both residents of Lazu village in Tirap district.
