India, March 15 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation for several healthcare initiatives across Assam, with a total investment of Rs 2,092 crore, as the state gears up for its Assembly elections.
During the event, Shah officially opened the Pragjyotishpur Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati, a facility built at a cost of Rs 675 crore.
The minister also virtually launched two new cancer care centres in Golaghat and Tinsukia, each developed under the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) at an expense of Rs 135 crore per centre.
