Guwahati, July 18 -- Sonam Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, on Saturday said no medical treatment should be administered to the activist without the consent of his family and doctors after he was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital by the Delhi Police.

Angmo confirmed that Wangchuk had been admitted to the hospital after being removed from the Jantar Mantar protest site earlier in this morning

In a post on X, she said, "Nothing should be administered to him orally or intravenously without taking consent from me, his family and his doctors who have been monitoring his health for the past 20 days."

Questioning the decision to hospitalise him, Angmo said Wangchuk's condition had not warranted immediate medical intervention.
