India, Sept. 17 -- Fresh violence in Yemen is putting further pressure on an already weakened healthcare system, with damaged facilities, disrupted medical supplies and reduced access to essential services threatening children and families, Save the Children said on September 16.
Health facilities disrupted
Save the Children said health facilities have been damaged and rendered non-functional in areas affected by the fighting.
Hostilities are also disrupting deliveries of medicines, nutrition products and medical supplies to facilities near conflict zones.
At least 43 children have been referred to Save the Children for lifesaving treatment for conflict-related injuries, including bullet and shrapnel wounds.
