India, Sept. 16 -- At least 19 children have been killed and 49 injured in Yemen between August 1 and September 9 as escalating violence continues to take a heavy toll on civilians, according to Save the Children. More than 80% of child casualties during the period were linked to airstrikes, shelling or drone attacks.
Child casualties rise
The child deaths and injuries were part of a wider toll that included 117 civilians killed and 206 injured. The week from September 3 to 9 recorded 175 casualties, including 43 children, marking the highest weekly number of child casualties in the past 12 months.
