India, Sept. 25 -- One year after Yemeni lawyer and human rights defender Abdul Majid Sabra was detained in Sana'a, Amnesty International has called on the Huthi de facto authorities to release him immediately and unconditionally. Sabra has remained in custody without being formally charged, according to the rights organisation.

Sabra was arrested on September 25, 2025, by Huthi armed forces and armed men in civilian clothing who entered his office in Sana'a. He was subsequently held at the Huthi-run Security and Intelligence detention centre in Chamlan.
