India, Sept. 9 -- Two weeks after a massive flash flood tore through Nepal's Bhotekoshi Valley, Welthungerhilfe (WHH) has intensified emergency assistance for survivors in remote mountain settlements, where damaged roads are making access difficult and the risk of waterborne disease is rising.
Food Aid Reaches Remote Communities
The organisation is focusing its initial response on hard-to-reach areas of Rasuwa District near the Tibet border. Large sections of the main road linking Nepal and China were washed away, while smaller mountain roads remain unusable for several settlements.
