India, Aug. 5 -- Emergency medical assistance is being deployed across Washington after fast-moving wildfires forced tens of thousands of residents to flee and destroyed hundreds of structures, with relief agencies stepping up support for displaced communities.
Fires Spread Across Washington
A series of wildfires has scorched more than 200,000 acres across Washington, with 17 active blazes fueled by high temperatures, dry conditions and strong winds. Authorities said at least 65,000 people have been evacuated from Spokane County alone, where more than 700 structures have been destroyed. Firefighters continue to battle multiple fronts as containment efforts remain challenging in several affected areas.
