India, July 23 -- Rebuilding Gaza will cost $71.4 billion, a figure seven times higher than the combined total of all major recovery efforts since 2008.
Economic and Physical Damage Assessments
The "Building Gaza Anew" report, co-authored by Oxfam and local partners, highlights that physical damage and economic losses alone total $57.9 billion. Total recovery needs over the next decade are estimated at $71.4 billion, with $26.3 billion required in the initial 18 months. This assessment follows findings from the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry that genocide has occurred in the territory.
