Sudan, April 15 -- For three years, Sudan has experienced overlapping crises amid violent conflict, displacement, malnutrition, and widespread sexual violence. Despite its magnitude, the humanitarian catastrophe in Sudan has failed to grab international attention.
Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) has been providing medical humanitarian aid in Sudan since 1979. Today, our teams are bearing witness to a massive crisis that is unfolding largely outside the world's headlines, while humanitarian aid falls far short of meeting the spiraling needs. The timeline below looks back on what our teams have witnessed in Sudan and how we have responded both within the country and beyond its borders.
