India, Aug. 25 -- Food insecurity is expected to deepen across Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar, with more than one in three refugees projected to face crisis-level hunger between September and December, putting children at increasing risk of malnutrition, Save the Children said.
Hunger Situation Deteriorates
Around 1.2 million Rohingya refugees live across roughly 30 camps in Cox's Bazar. Save the Children said 35% of the population is expected to experience IPC Phase 3 hunger or worse during the final four months of 2026, including 10% facing emergency levels. The proportion has risen from 30% last year.
