India, Sept. 15 -- Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo is facing overlapping health emergencies as disease outbreaks and continuing violence make it increasingly difficult for communities to access essential care, according to Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
Ebola draws attention as other diseases spread
The Ebola outbreak declared in May has attracted much of the available attention and resources, but MSF warns that measles, cholera and malaria continue to threaten people across North and South Kivu.
Since January 2026, MSF teams have treated more than 12,050 patients and vaccinated over 283,150 children against measles. The organisation has also treated more than 2,410 cholera patients in supported facilities.
