India, Aug. 31 -- Medical teams are reaching flood-hit communities in Nepal as survivors shelter in temporary camps and damaged infrastructure continues to restrict access to healthcare following devastating flash floods on August 26. Direct Relief is supporting local partners with emergency medical supplies and field teams deployed to areas cut off by the disaster.
Emergency Care Reaches Remote Communities
Medical providers from Dhulikhel Hospital have moved beyond the hospital to treat people in affected communities. The teams are carrying field medic packs and emergency supplies provided by Direct Relief, while the 475-bed hospital is preparing to receive patients evacuated from severely affected areas.
