India, Sept. 2 -- Children affected by the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo face a disproportionately high risk of dying, prompting Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) to call for their urgent inclusion in treatment and prevention research.

MSF said researchers, donors and pharmaceutical companies developing medical tools for the Bundibugyo virus must ensure children are meaningfully included in clinical studies. The organisation highlighted gaps in paediatric dosing, formulations and safety evidence that can delay access to potentially lifesaving interventions.
