India, Sept. 11 -- Medical care in hard-to-reach areas
Doctors Without Borders, also known as Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), expanded emergency medical assistance in 2025 as communities faced wars, disease outbreaks and severe barriers to healthcare. Its year review highlights operations that brought treatment to people living in some of the world's most difficult environments.
In Sudan's Darfur region, MSF teams continued providing care in Kass, a remote mountainous area affected by years of conflict and limited access to health services. During the first half of 2025, teams carried out more than 23,200 medical consultations and treated nearly 3,000 malaria patients.
