India, Sept. 23 -- As world leaders gather for the UN General Assembly in New York, Welthungerhilfe has warned that rising hunger driven by armed conflicts, disrupted trade and higher energy costs is becoming a growing threat to global peace and security.
Conflicts Disrupt Food and Energy Supplies
Welthungerhilfe said conflicts in Iran, Yemen and Saudi Arabia are restricting transport routes for energy and fertilisers from the Gulf region, while Russia's war in Ukraine continues to increase costs and complicate grain trade through the Black Sea.
