India, Sept. 29 -- Heavy rains have triggered floods and landslides across Western Nepal, sweeping away houses and buildings, killing more than 20 people and forcing nearly 750 families to leave their homes, according to the government.
Families Forced to Higher Ground
The latest disaster has pushed affected families towards higher ground and emergency shelters as rising waters and landslides damage homes and disrupt local communities. Roads and bridges have also been damaged, making it harder for relief teams to reach people in need.
