India, Aug. 27 -- At least 160 people were killed and hundreds remained missing after a catastrophic flash flood swept through border areas of Nepal and the Chinese territory of Tibet on August 26, prompting Direct Relief to mobilise medical assistance for communities affected by the disaster.
Emergency Medical Response
Direct Relief is coordinating with partners in the region as rescue operations continue. The organisation has shared information on available medical supplies with Nepal's Ministry of Health and local nonprofit groups, including Mountain Heart Nepal, which works to connect healthcare services with communities in difficult-to-reach areas.
