India, Aug. 20 -- Direct Relief is sending emergency medical supplies, solar equipment and personal-care resources to communities cut off by flooding and infrastructure damage after Hurricane Lala swept south of Hawai'i Island.

Mobile Clinics Restore Vital Connections

Although Lala did not make landfall, heavy rainfall triggered severe flooding, damaged more than 100 homes and left roads and bridges impassable. Two deaths were reported, while around 19,000 utility customers across the state remained without electricity as of August 19.
