India, Sept. 24 -- Thirty-eight civil society organisations have filed a joint brief in a US federal lawsuit challenging the legality of sanctions imposed by the Trump administration against International Criminal Court (ICC) officials and organisations, Amnesty International said on September 23.
Joint Brief Filed in New York
The groups submitted an amicus curiae, or "friend of the court", brief to the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. They are supporting a lawsuit brought by the American Friends Service Committee, Center for Constitutional Rights, Human Rights Watch and Open Society Institute against sanctions imposed under Executive Order 14203.
